The Adventures of Moonbeam is a series of books based on a real life legend in our stables.
Moonbeam is a 14.1hh haflinger horse who has been a school master with Dressage Australia P/L for over 12 years. She was bought as a companion horse initially for an imported warmblood which unfortunately never worked out - when put with another horse, she likes nothing more than rounding them up into a corner and letting them know whose boss!
She has been a challenging school master for many international and local working pupils over the years. She is broken to both harnes (but she hates things happening behind her so we don’t bother) and saddle and it’s true that she really does love to jump and has easily cleared over 1.15m when schooling! She’s a fantastic pigrooter if you try to ride her bareback and despite not being a fan of being patted or fussed over, she greets anyone with a treat and stands well for photo which makes people think she likes them and thus they promptly give her more treats.
Her super power is on-demand farting!! Every time she passes another horse in the arena, she farts at them - every, single time - and she randomly farts on anyone when they pass if they have not brought treats with them or they brush her without giving her hay when she’s tied up. She has everyone wrapped around her hoof!
